macOS Sierra... Interesting...

So, with Apple's latest OS, things are changing quite a lot. Nice to see they have moved away from the "Mac OS X" name. Was getting a bit boring.

Apple is really pushing Siri in macOS Sierra. Has many different functions. I look forward to using them. Especially for finding files on my Mac.

An update to the Photos app too. Apple Pay integration. Auto-Unlock with Apple Watch. Universal Clipboard (copy something on your iPhone, then paste on your Mac), iCloud Drive upgraded to include Desktop and Document folders from your Mac, Optimised Storage (storing unused files in the cloud to keep your Mac clear), Messages app upgrade, iTunes app upgrade, Tabs in Pages Numbers and Keynote and Picture in Picture to name a few.

There will be a number of hardware devices that will not be compatible though. So it seems it will be time to upgrade to something newer. Heres the list of compatible devices:

  • MacBook Pro (2010 and later)

  • MacBook Air (2010 and later)

  • Mac Mini (2010 and later)

  • Mac Pro (2010 and later)

  • MacBook (Late 2009 and later)

  • iMac (Late 2009 and later)

We are here to help if you need it when you are ready to upgrade.
